GDC SRM
Introduction
The Game Developer’s Community (GDC) at SRM Institute of Science and Technology is a thriving hub of innovation, creativity, and excellence in game development. We aim to foster an ecosystem where aspiring developers, designers, and gaming enthusiasts can collaborate, learn, and showcase their talents. Our club started with 2024 batch when BTech in Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Gaming Technology was first introduced in SRM Institute of Science and Technology. We the Game Developers Community SRM, aim to empower the existing and to nurture the budding game designers and developers in our university. We, as a collective plan to dive headfirst into the ever-ever-expanding world of game development and create experiences worth experiencing. We host high-profile events, including hackathons, game expos, and outreach programs, offering exceptional opportunities for networking, learning, and brand exposure. We have partnered with leading organizations through these initiatives and achieved national and international recognition, including winning the Global Game Jam 2023.

SRM Games EXPO – April 29, 2022
- Collaboration with StreetLamp Games
- Showcased innovative student-developed games, attracting game enthusiasts, industry experts, and recruiters.
Hack-o-Philia – November 11 & 12, 2022
- Organized in collaboration with all clubs under DSBS
- A high-energy hackathon where developers built and pitched groundbreaking game concepts.
Unreal Engine and Blender Workshop – March 24-25, 2025
- Recently we even conducted a workshop on Unreal Engine and Blender in Tech Park 2, SRM Institute of Science and Technology
- The Unreal Engine workshop was conducted by GDC Core members and the Blender Workshop was conducted by experts from Airsoft Studios
Outreach Program – January 29, 2023 A community-driven event aimed at inspiring and educating aspiring game developers.
Global Game Jam – February 2023 Secured first place, reinforcing our standing in the global gaming community.
Game-Expanse – August 28-30, 2023 A 3-day immersive event featuring workshops, competitions, and guest lectures from industry leaders.
